Vietnamese students win gold medals at IMSO 2021
The Vietnam team has won two gold medals in maths at the 17th International Maths and Science Olympiad.
Vietnam also attended the contest with 24 students who are all in sixth grade.
12 students who joined the maths contests are students from Hanoi-Amsterdam School, Giang Vo Secondary School, Trung Vuong Secondary School, Ngo Si Lien Secondary School, Nguyen Truong To Secondary School, Ngoi Sao School, Archimedes School, Newton School and Cau Giay Secondary School.
Students who joined in exams for sciences are from Hanoi-Amsterdam School, Cau Giay Secondary School, Doan Thi Diem Secondary School, Nguyen Sieu School, Giang Vo Secondary School, CLC Thanh Xuan Secondary School, Trung Vuong Secondary School, Archimedes School, and Newton School.
After the three-day contest, Nguyen Tung Lam from Giang Vo Secondary School and Ha Manh Tung from Hanoi-Amsterdam School both won a gold medal for the team. Lam also had the highest score for the explore test. The team also won five silver medals and four bronze medals in maths, and five silver medals and four bronze medals in science.
The award ceremony for Vietnamese students was held at Giang Vo Secondary School by the Hanoi Department of Education.
In 2019, the 16th International Maths and Science Olympiad was held in Vietnam. The Vietnam team won a total seven gold medals, seven silver medals and four bronze medals in maths. They also won eight gold medals, seven silver medals, and three bronze medals in sciences.
Chu Binh Minh received the highest score in science.
