Phung Hieu Anh, the Vietnamese representative at Little Miss United Nations, was announced as the winner of the 2022 version of the pageant on May 8 during the grand finale held in India.

Her victory comes following the native of Ho Chi Minh City putting on a strong performance during the final round of the global pageant.

During the national costume competition, the nine-year-old contestant donned an Ao Dai, the traditional Vietnamese long dress, featuring a little dragon which draws inspiration from parts of Vietnamese history.

Furthermore, Hieu Anh was able to impress the judges with the song “Trái đất này là của chúng mình”, also known as “This earth is ours”, and an English presentation introducing the beautiful landscapes and hospitable Vietnamese people to international friends in the talent segment.

Through such a convincing performance, the child model was able to bring home the crown of the contest, with the entrants from host India and Russia winning first and second runners-up titles, respectively.

The Little Miss United Nations is a pageant open for children aged seven to 12 from around the world which has taken place for four years.

This year the event got underway in India from May 1 to May 8 and saw 20 contestants gather from across the global. It marks the first time that the country has sent a representative to compete in the world pageant.
