National traffic safety contest organised on larger scale this year

The 2023 National Traffic Safety Contest will be organised for six months on a larger scale and with bigger prizes.

The contest, which is co-organised by the Traffic Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security, Dantri/Dtinews Newspaper and Toyota Vietnam Company, will open for entries until August 25 with total prizes amounting to VND312 million.

This is the second year the annual contest is launched under the Vietnam Traffic Safety Initiative 2023 programme, which aims at seeking initiatives and solutions for current traffic issues including reducing traffic accidents and congestion in Vietnam.

The 2023 contest will have three categories that will focus on general traffic safety and the use of technology in traffic safety. It will address traffic congestion, drink-driving, and general traffic order and safety awareness.

Vietnamese Individuals and organisations living in Vietnam or overseas, as well as foreign people living in Vietnam are all welcome to join the contest. Participants can enter the competition at: https://bit.ly/dondangkyATGT. Contestants need to describe their products; record a video clip or take photos of their presentation of the products; and make a declaration that they own the rights to the concept.

Entries can be sent online to sangkienatgt@dantri.com.vn. Documents and photos should be below 5MB while video clips should be below 25MB.

Participants can also send entries directly to: Dantri Newspaper at 2 Giang Vo Street, Cat Linh Ward, Dong Da District, Hanoi. All entries should be sent before August 25, 2023.

Top 20 initiatives and solutions can be selected for application in localities nationwide, especially in Hanoi and HCM City.

The best five initiatives and five best solutions will be selected to the final round. There will be first, second, third and consolation prizes which have a total value of VND 312 million.

The Vietnam Traffic Safety Initiative 2023 programme will be held from April to September to raise people's awareness about traffic safety and general traffic-related issues. The initiative is also intended to connect state management agencies with the public. The intention is to help the public be more aware of traffic laws and co-operate with the authorities to improve traffic order and safety.
