Hanoi cultural exhibition focuses on General Giap

Vietnam Military History Museum, 28A, Dien Bien Phu Street.

Exhibition of hundreds of photos of late General Vo Nguyen Giap by journalist Colonel Tran Hong and photographer Nguyen Dinh Toan; and paintings by artists Mai Duy Linh, Dang Xuan Hung and Nguyen Van Tuan; and sculptures by artist Tran Van Thuc.

A set of six objects, including a gold-plated copper bust of the General; a badge with the General's image; and a cannon bullet shell carved with the image of the Dien Bien Phu battle by major general and writer Nguyen Chu Phac are among the key exhibits.

A portrait of General Giap made from 60,000 matches by artist Ngo Thi Thuc will also be on display.

Hue City-  Exhibitions reviving the finest values of Hue culture

Tay Khuyet Dai Tower inside the former Imperial City

A joint exhibition by five young artists from Hue to show their love for the former royal capital city. They use different materials, including oil, acrylic and truc chi, a special type of paper made from bamboo with a strong desire to revive the finest values of Hue culture.

The highlight of the exhibition is an installation of truc chi works by Ngo Dinh Bao Vi. Vi designed a unique lantern made from truc chi paper with a rose stencil to reflect everyone's true love and passion for life.

Asia Art Link has created several effective activities together in order to mobilize material and immaterial resources for the victims of Haiyan storm. Along with the operations carried out in the Philippines, Asia Art Link in Vietnam will also organize an exhibition titled “Recovery after the Storm”.

7 artists from the Philippines, 8 from Malaysia, and 11 from the host country Vietnam will be present in the exhibition.

Manzi Art Space, 14 Phan Huy Ich Street

A collaborative project of poetry and painting between Kaitlin Rees and Baptiste Gilloz, with Nha Thuyen as translator. The 116×92 cm paintings on canvas are not of anything and so can evoke everything. They allow the viewer an open space for the projection of self, of sense, of nonsense.

The ten poems collected in a chapbook start with a looking outward at these works, and end in a looking inward, exploring different faces of balance in relationships. The exhibition will include paintings, a small book of poems, and a video projection.

The illustration collections and other fine artworks will be auctioned to raise funds to build schools in impoverished mountainous areas in Vietnam.

An English-speaking walk tour to discover the Ngu Xa bronze-making village and the Quan Thanh Temple organised by the Friends Vietnam Heritage. Guests will visit a "kitchen" foundry and see the largest single poured bronze statue in the country – all on the tiny island of Ngu Xa on the east end of Truc Bach Lake.

After a one-hour lunch and refreshments, the tour will continue to discover the Quan Thanh Temple, an old Taoist temple, and its 3.7 tonne 350-year-old bronze statue of Tran Vu – Hanoi's protector. On the way to the temple, visitors will learn about the history of Truc Bach Lake.
