Hanoi-Charity Music Night “The Trip”

Jan 3 and 4, 7.30 pm – 10.30 pm

L’Espace, 24 Trang Tien street, Hoan Kiem district

A charity music night with the participation of little artists from top television programs such as Vietnam Idol Kids, The Voice Kids, Dancing with the Star Kids, Little hero and more than 30 little talents from Hoa Mi club.

The entire net proceeds of the event will be donated to the project fund and used to organize Tet (lunar New Year) for children in Meo Vac district, Ha Giang province on January 14-16,

Ticket price: VND 500,000 – VND 200,000 - VND120,000 (visitors aged under 12)

Hanoi-Drama Improvisation Workshop “The Seven Year Itch”

The Black Box, 56 Nguyen Khuyen street, Dong Da district

Under the instruction of facilitator Julia Füsselberger from Austria, participants at the workshop will learn to work on character development through different methods, like body, voice or movement, as well as how to develop a continuously interesting story arc with their partner.

Fee: VND180,000 – VND 150,000 for BlackBox students and members

Hanoi-Guitar Recital with Tran Tuan An

A show of Tran Tuan An, the winner of the National Guitar Competition in Vietnam and many international prestigious competitions,. An will invite the audiences to discover a repertoire combining between the traditional Vietnamese music with the world-famous repertoire of classical guitar.

HCMC-Gala New Year Concert

Directed by conductor Le Phi Phi, the show consists of excerpts from famous operas.

The performance will start with Light Cavalry Overture of F.V.Suppe, following by the most loved: “Nessundorma” (None shall sleep) from Turandot of G. Puccini, “Habanera” from G.Bizert’s “Carmen”, “Brindisi” from G.Verdi’s “La Traviata”… and other well-known experts from Carmen, La Traviata, Lohengrin, Nabucco, Pagliacci…

Painting Exhibition “Spring Peach Flowers 2”

Hanoi’s Exhibition Center for Fine Arts and Photography, 29 Hang Bai Street

A painting exhibition with the theme of “Spring portrait” by painter Nguyen Huu Khoa.

“Spring portrait” also known as “Spring Peach flowers 2” continues the painting series of peach blossom titled “Spring Peach flowers” started from 2013 and catching the attention of art-loving public. “Spring Peach flowers” expresses multiple perspectives on a typical flower of the spring in the North, in Hanoi.

Featuring 70 paintings about peach blossom, most of which were finished in 2016, by oil paint, acrylic, pastel, etc.

Born in Phu Thuong, Tay Ho district (Hanoi) – a traditional peach blossom village in the capital, Nguyen Huu Khoa was known as Com, Khoai, NHK,… Following some individual painting exhibition themed on cartoon portraits of artists and celebrities, in recent years, he focuses on painting peach blossom which is close to his childhood.

Hanoi-Exhibition “Scry” by Phi Phi Oanh

Manzi Art Space, 14 Phan Huy Ich street, Ba Dinh district

Featuring Phi Phi Oanh’s latest series of lacquer paintings on glasses which she has worked and experimented on for years.

Scrying is the act of divination through focused gazing into a glass or reflective medium. In this exhibition, magnifying glasses are used to view the lacquer skins. The title, Scry, suggests the character of the images presented as embracing of ambiguity and visual magic and that they are desperate attempts to grasp what the future beholds.

Hanoi-Pin-up Painting Exhibition by artist Nguyen The Hung

NEST BY AIA, 191 Ba Trieu Street, Hai Ba Trung district

Introducing nine paintings by 1981-born artist Nguyen The Hung from Tuyen Quang province.

The exhibits reflect Hung’s perspectives on things taking place in modern-day society, including the constant integration and conflict between traditional and modern elements, the concern about human rights, gender equality, the relationship between man and woman, and how these reciprocals alter core values and attitudes.

Hanoi-Double Exposure Photo Exhibition “The Father’s Gift”

Luala Uomo, 61 Ly Thai To street, Hoan Kiem district

Featuring 20 photographs telling 20 real stories about life memories between fathers and their children. The photographers have talked to the subjects, explored and captured their daily-life moments. Audience will have the opportunity to view the photos processed in Double Exposure technique with many layers at LUALA Uomo.

HCMC-Exhibition “The Prolonged Interventions” by Le Phi Long

The Factory Contemporary Arts Centre, 15 Nguyen U Di, Thao Dien, District 2

This exhibition features photographs and an installation by Le Phi Long, accompanied by a video documentary directed by Le Phi Long, commissioned and produced by Madeleine Cao—founder of the social enterprise OpenM Corp.

HCMC-Art Exhibition “Life Is a Game”

An art exhibition showcasing brand new collections by Nguyen Da Quyen (Mixed Media, Acrylic) and Christopher Skouenborg (Photography) on the theme “Games of Childhood” through different means of arts: mixed media and photography.
