Hanoi-French Tana String Quartet: Live concert

Live concert by Tana String Quartet recognized by The Guardian as ‘impeccable players’.

The Tana String Quartet has appeared at prestigious festivals and concert series worldwide and is the recipient of an extensive list of prestigious international awards, capped off by the the Pro Quartet – CEMC foundation in Paris.


The following evening the Quartet will perform at the French Culture Exchange Institute in Ho Chi Minh City.

Hanoi-Vietnamese, German, Japanese artists to perform special concert

Together artists from VNSO, the concert will see the participation of the bugler Premysl Vojta, the trombonist Michael Massong and the trumpeter Martin Griebl from Germany’s WRD – Sinfornieorchester Koln with famous Japanese oboe artist Maekawa Kosei as special guest.

Under the leadership of conductor Honna Tetsujin, the artists will perform “Tieng vong” by musician Do Hong Quan and the Symphony No. 7, also called “Leningrad Symphony”, by Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovitch.

EXHIBITION

Hanoi-Exhibition “Fairy” by Artist Do Hiep

Dong Phong Art Gallery, 3 Ly Dao Thanh Street, Hoan Kiem District

The ten circular paintings displayed in “Fairy” represent Hiep’s first experiments with rice paper (do paper), asian lacquer, pearl shell and acrylic on wood. The artist is enamoured with pieces of glittering pearl shell pieces, profound drops of Asian lacquer, ancient flowers and floating clouds on rice paper.

Do Hiep was born in 1984 and gained an MA degree from the Vietamese Fine Arts University in 2012. He has participatied in many group exhibitions at home and abroad. He is the recipient of several awards from the Vietnamese Fine Art Association. “Fairy” is his second solo exhibition.

Hanoi-Exhibition “SLAMtho – Poetic Labyrinth”

“SLAMtho” helps visitors discover original poems written by Vietnamese francophone students during the first poetry slam ever in Vietnam. The centerpiece of the exhibition, a labyrinth, takes visitors to explore its mazes, similar to a poet wandering in their words, searching for meaning and sensations.

HCMC-Exhibition “Square Silence” in Memoriam of Painter Nguyen Lai

Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Museum, 97A Pho Duc Chinh Street, District 1

An exhibition in memory of painter Nguyen Lai.

Throughout his painting career, Nguyen Lai is loyal to abstract art. He chose square canvas for his works, painted mostly by flying and named his lineage as “square abstraction.”

HCMC- "Lingering at the Peculiar Pavilion" – Solo Exhibition by Vo Tran Chau


Salon Saigon, 6D Ngo Thoi Nhiem Street, District 3,

Featuring embroidered paintings, fabric sculptures and a unique form of mosaic tapestry/painting not often seen in Vietnam following artist Vo Tran Chau’s research about the Nguyen dynasty in Hue city.
