Hanoi-Contemporary Dance “Beyond Absence” by Sébastien Ly

“Beyond Absence” is the cream of the exhibition “Gestures of Memories” by artist Florian Nguyen which will be presented at L’Espace in April. All emotions and feelings are gathered by dance artists from the exhibition’s audience and all those who gravitate around, enlivening the dancers’ bodies and reviving all original sensations. Five dancers will invite the audience to walk freely through different rooms and create their own courses based on their encounters with the artists. The quintets, trios, duets of dancers will take turn to perform, highlighting the characteristics of the areas they have walked through. Audience will be invited to interact with the artists. It will sure be a once-in-a-life-time experience.

Hanoi-“Lingering at the Peculiar Pavilion” – Solo Exhibition by Vo Tran Chau

A solo exhibition by artist Tran Chau who develops a body of work consisting of embroidered paintings, fabric sculptures, and a unique form of mosaic tapestry/painting not often seen in Vietnam.

This exhibition creates an illusory space between forgetting and remembering, between current affairs and autobiographical elements, to create discourse on the psychology of our very era that seems to embody a recurrent uneasiness, looping between the past and future.

Hanoi International Queer Film Week (HIQFW)

Hanoi International Queer Film Week (otherwise known as HIQFW), is a non-profit Queer-themed Film Week that screens both Vietnamese and International cinematic works.

The main theme of HIQFW this year is “Pride journey”. Each day of film week has a topic which sticks to the main theme: “Who I am”, “Discrimination” “Love”, “Acceptance”, “Pride”. From that, we believe we would be able to introduce audience the path of pride that LGBT people as well as queer people go through.

HIQFW 2017 will feature 23 films, including feature films and documentaries, from 8 countries around the world about LGBTQ people.

Screenings will be held continuously with two screenings per day on April 17-21, 2017
