Kuricorder Quartet, which is well known as a recorder ensemble group, play a variety of recorders and other musical instruments.
The concert is part of the activities to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam – Japan diplomatic relations.

January 2018 begins with the Russian greats, Tchaikovsky and Shostakovich, with Piano concerto No.1 B-flat minor, op 23 and Symphony 5 in D minor op. 47.
The pieces will be performed by maestro Ho Thi The Van upon her return to Vietnam, and the HBSO Symphony Orchestra.

Hanoi- Exhibition ‘Quiet’
Vietnam National Museum of Fine Arts, 68 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Ba Dinh District,
Featuring artworks with the theme of Spring depicting the simple, ordinary yet beautiful things in life. They were created by three artists: Hoang Duc Dung, Nguyen Van Duc and Nguyen Van Cuong.
Hanoi-Exhibition ‘Vestige of a Land’
Goethe Institute, 56-58 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Ba Dinh District,
The exhibition is the result of six months of joint cooperation between the artist Le Giang, Sino-Nom researcher Nguyen Dinh Hung, vernacular architect Pham Thanh Thuy and environmental consultant Nguyen Thuy Duong.
It highlights the youngster’s perspective on the life of communal houses in Northern Vietnam, along the Red River Delta region.

Hang Trong folk paintings are the quintessence of the aesthetic, spiritual and religious values of people of ancient Hanoi.
The exhibition aims to bring young people closer to the art of Hang Trong folk paintings and show audiences how this type of folk art can be applied in modern life.

Introducing a poetic perspective of Vietnam in its metamorphosis through artworks by three artists from France, Belgium, and Vietnam, as well as students from HCMC University of Fine Arts, and through participatory workshops for the audience.

The exhibition ‘Remnant’ brings us into Le The Lam’s own world, where lies the sorrow and anxiety of living in postwar Vietnam. In this exhibition, Le The Lam’s paintings depict different states of a ‘silent death’, using the presence of closed coffins and lingering shadow-like humans, interspersed at times with words.

From this week until the Lunar New Year, TPD will screen 5 outstanding movies that were produced in the years of 1974, 1984, 1994, 2004 and 2014. These are not the best movies of those years, but definitely the gems of the world’s cinema.

Chinatown is a neo-noir mystery film, directed by Roman Polanski from a screenplay by Robert Towne, starring Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway. The film was inspired by the California Water Wars, a series of disputes over southern California water at the beginning of the 20th century, by which Los Angeles interests secured water rights in the Owens Valley. The Robert Evans production, a Paramount Pictures release, was the director’s last film in the United States and features many elements of film noir, particularly a multi-layered story that is part mystery and part psychological drama.
