From Krossing Over Arts Festival:

Krossing Over Arts Festival (KOAF), coorganised this year by Kerman and French Institute in Vietnam, is in its third edition with an exciting two-week-long programme over two cities, featuring a series of interdisciplinary and collaborative performances along with a plethora of artist talks, dance workshops, and international film screenings. The festival will take place from 5/4/2019 to 11/4/2019 in Ho Chi Minh-City and from 13/4/2019 to 21/4/2019 in Hanoi at 15 different locations both indoors and outdoors.

Hanoi-Hip-hop Performace “The Roots” by Kader Attou

Apr 13, 8pm

Youth Theatre, 11 Ngo Thi Nham Street, Hai Ba Trung District,

The performance, which is choreographed by Kader Attou from France, uses music of Brahms, Glazunov and electro music.

HCMC-Ballet Performance “Cinderella”

Apr 13 and 14, 8pm

Ho Chi Minh City Opera House, 7 Lam Son Square, District 1,

“Cinderella”, which is choreographed by Johanne Jakhelln Constant, may be the most popular ballet the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet has produced.

EXHIBITION

Hanoi- Exhibition: “Reflective Impressions: van Gogh & his works”




Vincom Centre for Contemporary Art (VCCA), B1 – R3, Vincom Mega Mall Royal City, 72A Nguyen Trai, Thanh Xuan District,


Showcasing more than 35 artworks of the Vincent van Gogh, one of the most excellent post-impressionist artists.

These paintings will be displayed as digital images, shown alternately and automatically through modern high-resolution projectors – corresponding to the different genres, including still lifes, self-portraits, plants and landscapes.

Hanoi-Exhibition “Echo” by Tran Van An

A solo exhibition “Echo” by sculptor Tran Van An.

This is Tran Van An’s first solo exhibition after 9 years of his art career (2010-2019), showcasing his new works made from metal (iron and stainless steel), shaped with mounding and electric welding techniques.

HCMC-Exhibition “Machine is Nature”




The Factory Contemporary Arts Centre, 15 Nguyen U Di, Thao Dien, District 2


Featuring 15 artists from Vietnam, Thailand, Bangladesh, China and the UK, curated by The Factory and Inlen Photo Gallery.

This exhibition seeks to engage the behaviour and consequence of thinking that machines have become the ‘Nature’ we study and prioritise. It examines the current times in which we live, sharing the work of artists who are both in awe, and critical, of the patterns, substance, psychological relations and historical fictions between assumptions of Nature and the Machine.
