Nhi Ha Flow (Nhi Ha being an ancient name for the section of the Red River that passes through Hanoi) is a collaborative fashion installation show presented by two of Hanoi’s leading fashion design brands, CHULA and KILOMET109.
The show tells a visual story, reflecting an interplay between indigenous materials – originated from thousand-year-old civilisation in the Red River Delta – and the multicultural styles and sophisticated tastes of modern Hanoians.
Lai Chau - Mong Ethnic Culture Festival
December 24-26
Introducing cultural and tourism products of the Mong Ethnic Group, a traditional cake pounding contest, a demonstration of the ethnic community’s festivals and cultural rituals, a concert, and a fashion show of traditional Mong costumes.
Featuring artisans, actors, artists, and athletes from 12 Mong ethnic group-inhabited provinces of Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Ha Giang, Yen Bai, Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Lang Son, Dien Bien, Dak Lak, Thanh Hoa, and Hoa Binh.

‘The Reflection’, an exhibition of new work by Hanoi-based artist Ha Manh Thang. This is the artist’s fourth solo exhibition at the gallery and showcases his most experimental and introspective works to date.
As Ha Manh Thang witnesses the erosion of time across the surfaces and in the details of ancient paintings and objects, he admits the tendency towards abstraction comes naturally through his own research and discovery of the works’ images, colors and multilayered meanings. His continuous exploration of Vietnamese heritage and culture, and love of antiques from lacquer panels and folding screens, to carvings and reliefs seems to parallel with his continuous contemplation upon the landscapes present in both the antiquities and in the natural world.

Vincom Center for Contemporary Art (VCCA) opens the contemporary ceramic exhibition “Loong Koong” introducing nearly 50 artworks by two artists Trinh Vu Hieu and Bui Quoc Khanh, with the theme from traditional images to reflections of today’s society.
Well-known as an artist who restores traditional cultural values, Trinh Vu Hieu is passionate and eager to convey Vietnamese historical stories through different mediums. The artist has imbued between folk materials from the Hang Trong paintings and the technique of handmade ceramics of the Northern people to create this series of works. Going beyond a mere art form serving beliefs, these artworks with sophisticated craftsmanship still have the appearance of gods in the spiritual life since archaic times but become closer as if there were no barriers. Each of these devotional paintings on sustainable ceramics creates a different visual effect, as an old story told in a different way, interesting and full of charm.
