HCMC-A Night of Mozart & Beethoven

From the organizer:

The concert begins with the Overture to Mozart’s opera Don Giovanni. History tells us that Mozart composed this overture on the night before the opera’s premier in Prague. Parts for all the instrumental sections had then to be made, with the result that the orchestra had to sight-read the music at the opening performance.

Next comes Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante. This is a concerto for two soloists, a violinist and a viola-player. Mozart had been toying with the idea of music that combines elements of the symphony and the concerto, and this was the result.

Initiated by Behalf Studio — a boutique multidisciplinary design firm based in Ho Chi Minh City, “Republish: Typography As…” showcases their dedicated process to research, revive, and digitise organic fonts intrinsically familiar to the country’s urban landscape — an authentic contemporary expression that reflects the team’s inquisitive effort contributive to Vietnam’s ever-evolving creative industries and unique aesthetic identity.

Known as one of Hanoi’s second wave of contemporary artists, Nam’s practice embraces a diverse body of multimedia works such as paintings, installations and video art. ‘Through the looking glass’ is the artist’s third solo exhibition with Manzi, following ‘Undone’ in 2017 and ‘The broken chapters’ in 2013.

Danang- Screening of the Spanish film OMEGA

On the occasion of the official working visit of the Ambassador of Spain, Mrs. Pilar Méndez Jiménez, to the central region of Vietnam, the Embassy of Spain in Vietnam has the pleasure to present a free screening of the Spanish film OMEGA (subtitled in Vietnamese and English) at Le Do Cinema Center (46 Tran Phu, Hai Chau, Da Nang) on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 7:00 pm.

OMEGA is a documentary film that narrates the gestation and development of the legendary flamenco-rock album of the same title, composed by maestro Enrique Morente and the rock band Lagartija Nick from Granada in 1996. It is a groundbreaking album with great impact on the national and international music scenes in which Morente adapted songs by Canadian singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen and put music to Federico García-Lorca poems. The film was nominated for the Best Documentary Film at the Goya Awards.
