First electric bus route opens in Hanoi

The first electric bus route was officially launched in Hanoi this morning, December 2. The service is operated by VinBus Ecology Transport Services Limited Liability Company under Vingroup.

 

The route linking from My Dinh area in Nam Tu Liem District to Ocean Park in Long Bien District. 


Each bus is equipped with an automated system able to control driving behaviour and give warnings about unsafe situations, an on-board public address system, free wifi, USB charging ports, and security cameras.



The e-vehicle has a battery capacity of 281 kWh, capable of moving up to 220 - 260km. Buses can be quickly fully charged after only 2 hours at a 150kW fast charging station system with leading global charging technology.


 


Tran Thi Hanh from Thanh District said that she was excited to experience the electric bus for the first time in Hanoi. “It is more comfortable to sit on an electric bus and I don’t need cash. I can use bank cards instead,” Hanh added.


According to Nguyen Thi Hien from Phu Tho Province, e-buses are quite clean. Bus staff advise passengers how to use bank cards to pay for the fees. 



A single ticket is VND7,000-9,000, while a monthly pass is VND55,000 – 200,000. The elderly, the disabled and children aged below six have free travel.
