Security at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi returned a suitcase containing valuable jewellery to a female passenger.

Security staff member Tran Van Tien found the suitcase on Thursday afternoon and informed the security cameras section which then showed that the owner had left the airport.

Checking the suitcase, they found a laptop, an iPad, two watches, a bank card, some foreign currency and some gold and diamond jewellery with receipts which showed their value of over VND200 million.

Tien called the female passenger, who confirmed it was her suitcase that she had forgotten at the airport.

"I was helping my son, who had to use a wheelchair, and thought my driver had taken all my luggage to our car," she said. "It was not until the security man called me that I checked my luggage and noticed the missing suitcase. I sincerely thank the staff at Noi Bai Airport for helping me."

The woman and her son arrived at Noi Bai Airport at 3 pm on May 9 on Flight KE0164 from Turkey.
