Muong Long Commune in the central province of Nghe An is covered by plum blossoms, offering a stunning beauty at this time of the year.

Muong Long is around 300 kilometres from Vinh City and the locality is attracting many people who come to see plum blossoms at this time. Plum trees were first grown in Trung Tam, Muong Long 1 and Muong Long 2 villages with a total area of 23 hectares. Gradually, plum tree plantations expanded. (Photo by Duy Khanh)

Ho Chong Po, owner of a local homestay, said that in the early 1990s, Muong Long was seen as the hub of poppy plants. This led to the rampant drug addiction and other social problems. By 1997 the plant was uprooted, giving way to plum trees. (Photo by T.T)
