Two tourists drowned and one went missing while swimming at Van Chay Beach, in Co To District, Quang Ninh Province on August 17.

According to the People’s Committee of Co To District, at approximately 9am on August 17, a group arrived to Van Chay Beach for a day at the beach. A short time afterwards, however, two members of the group were found drowned.

The rescue team was able to save one of the group, named Nga, 21, but were unable to locate a woman of the same age named Yen.

The local authorities have instructed rescue teams to continue their search.

The group was part of a delegation from Samsung Thai Nguyen. They arrived in Co To on August 16.

On June 20, a man named Tran Bao Ngoc, 25, in Ha Tinh Province also drowned at Van Chay Beach, and there was another swimming fatality in 2013.
