Readers help build new house for Phu Yen couple
Dantri/DTiNews readers donated nearly VND40m (USD1,700) and helped a poor couple in Phu Yen Province build a new house for a family with several ill members.
All the money they saved has been used for the treatment. They have nothing else to sell to repair the dilapidated house which looked like it could collapse anytime.
After their stories were published, Dantri readers donated VND40m, many people in Phu Yen Province also donated to the family VND30m and An Ninh Dong Commune People's Committee donated VND5m. Ca borrowed more money from relatives in order to build a VND90m house to replace their old, dilapidated home.
The family will no longer have to run to other places whenever it rains or when it is too cold.
Huynh Thi Danh from the Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs of An Ninh Dong Commune said, "I'm glad that they have a new house. I was worried that they might not be able to face the next storm. We want to thank everyone that helped Ca's family."
