Investigation into mass cat deaths in Nam Dinh
Hundreds of cats in a commune in the northern province of Nam Dinh have suddenly died of unknown reasons, worrying local residents.
The information was given by Nguyen Van Luong, chairman of Truc Thang Commune People’s Committee in Truc Ninh District.

The incident has happened over recent days. Initially, just some cats died but the figure gradually increased. The record high figure was on February 14 with more than 100 cats reported dead.
According to Luong, local authorities have informed the provincial police. He noted that people in the commune were really worried and believe the animals may be being poisoned.
The dead cats have been destroyed.
The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
