Vietnam's first shrimp transaction floor debuts
The International Collaborating Centre for Aquaculture and Fisheries Sustainability (ICAFIS) under the Vietnam Fisheries Association on Friday launched the first Vietnamese Shrimp Transaction Floor in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho.

Speaking at the event, director of ICAFIS, Tran Xuan Lap said that the floor, which is set up by Cuu Long Investment and Technology Company, would help better connect shrimp farmers and traders.
According to Lap, Vietnamese shrimp farmers usually have no information on market prices so they are normally squeezed by traders and face difficulties in selling directly to processors.
"Now with this floor, farmers can find all the key information about the prices and consumers," Lap said, adding that farmers will be allowed to join for free during the first stage.
A representative of Cuu Long Investment and Technology Company, Nguyen Manh Trieu, said that shrimp farmers and traders can introduce themselves and make transactions on the website www.cnsv.vn.
