The project has a total investment of VND1.36 trillion (USD58.65 million) sourced from the local budget is scheduled for competition in 2020.
The ground-breaking ceremony of the project on August 22
The road is 18.7 kilometres long, including 10.2 kilometres running through Cam Pha City. It is designed to have four lanes for vehicles with a maximum speed of 60 kilometres per hour.
Once put into operation, the road will help to ease traffic on National Highway 18 and boost connections between Ha Long and Cam Pha cities. It will also contribute to developing a chain of urban areas in the eastern area of the province.
At the ground-breaking ceremony, Cao Tuong Huy, vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committee highlighted the project’s significance, saying that this is part of the provincial transport development plan through 2020 with a vision to 2030.
This road is part of a wider plan including other big projects including Cua Luc undersea tunnel and Bai Chay and Tran Quoc Nghien coastal road.
