Municipal People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho said all overseas business trips approved by the committee until April 30 this year would be delayed until the coronavirus brought under control.

The committee has also instructed local agencies to restrict overseas business trips by April 30, except for very necessary cases.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Health need to work with the people’s committee in receiving foreign delegations.

Agencies have to restrict the welcome of foreign delegations from virus-hit areas based on the Vietnamese Ministry of Health advice. In necessary cases, agencies have to provide reports on guests to the departments of foreign affairs and health for the epidemic prevention.

The city people’s committee has also suspended international conferences as part of efforts to help curb the epidemic.
