Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Chu Ngoc Anh sent an official document on May 24, asking localities to tighten preventive measures and awareness-raising programmes against Covid-19. State agencies and firms were encouraged to work online and apply more technology in managing.

Starting from 12 am on May 25, outdoor exercises in public locations like parks are banned and all restaurants can only provide takeaway services to prevent large crowd gatherings. Beauty salons and barber shops also temporarily close from May 25.

The Department of Health must work with the military to expand and add more quarantine centres. The head managers will be punished if cross-infection or any violations are discovered inside the centres.

Heads of the district and communal people's committees must keep a close eye on home isolation cases and quickly lockdown, test and carry out contact-tracing tasks if there is any new case.

People who returned to Hanoi during May 10-24 must fill in medical declaration forms on May 25.

Large firms such as Vingroup and T&T Group were asked to carry out Covid-19 tests for their employees and people related to their projects.
