Family calls for help for ill infant
A couple in Ca Mau Province are calling for financial support to treat their 10-month-old son who is struggling with three diseases.
Pham Van Ut and Ly Thi Ut got married in 2013 and had their first son, Pham Chi Hieu, three years later. But three months after born, Hieu had high fevers and he continuously lost weight. He was diagnosed with pneumonia, an intestinal infection and congenital heart defects at Ca Mau Obstetric and Pediatric Hospital.

"We felt like collapsing after hearing the news. We couldn't do anything but hold him and cry," Ut said.
Hieu struggling with three diseases
Hieu's 80-year-old grandmother worried both for her own health and her grandson. "I just hope that my grandson will be healthy like other children. I'm fine on my own," she said.
Nguyen Thanh Suol, head of Hamlet 5, said, "We have given Hieu's family preferential treatment in accordance with social policies but we can only help them so much. The hospital charges are very high."
