A Spanish family of five have been cheated when booking a Ha Long Bay tour online.

Five Spanish tourists are cheated when booking a tour to Ha Long Bay online

Speaking with people at the Tuan Chau International Port on the afternoon of July 26, one of the tourists said that their family of five members including three children had just arrived here to start their tour on the bay with Paragon Cruise which they had earlier booked at www.expedia.es. in Spain.

"We paid Euro 640 for the three-day two-night tour," he said.

However, they were extremely shocked when finding that there was no such vessel.

Seeing their situation, a local cruise company, the Pelican Ha Long decided to offer the family a two-day one-night tour on their boat.

According to the company's chairman, Nguyen Duy Phu, the cost of just 640 euros which the five tourists paid at the online booking was too cheap for a three-day two-night tour.

“There aren’t such prices," Phu confirmed. "Fortunately we had unused cabins for two days and one night which are enough for their family so we invited them to join us for free."

Vice chairman of Ha Long City People's Committee, Ho Quang Huy, told the Thanh Nien Newspaper on July 27 that they have been informed about the incident and are carrying out an investigation.

"We've also praised the Pelican Cruise Company for their offer of help to the foreign tourists,” Huy said.
