Mentally-ill mother kills four-year-old daughter in Bac Lieu
A 38-year-old woman suspected of having mental problems has been detained for killing her four-year-old daughter in the southern province of Bac Lieu.
Bac Lieu Provincial Police Department announced on Friday that they have arrested Nguyen Kim Ngoc in Dong Hai District and will launch a murder investigation.
Ngoc told the police that she killed her daughter while she suffered mental problems and she has been sent for psychological evaluation, police said.
According to police report, at 3pm on March 12, Ngoc stayed with her elder son and her four-year-old daughter at her house.
Then she took the daughter to the toilet, locked the door and hit the small girl with a hammer.
Hearing the baby's cry, the boy came to see and then called other people for help but the girl died soon after that.
