Readers donate to seriously-ill boy

Dantri/DTiNews has transferred nearly VND113m (USD4,800) in support for a three-year-old boy who is struggling with cancer in Quang Binh Province.

Nguyen Hoang Anh has been diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a type of cancer that forms in certain types of nerve tissue. Anh’s parents were hopeless after discovering the cost of treatment.

Anh's only chance now is bone marrow transplant which costs up to VND1bn (USD43,000). Anh's mother is staying at the hospital to take care of him while his father's income can only afford some of the medicines. They had planned to sell the house but even then it would not be enough.

After his story was published, many people called to give encouragement and donate to the boy. Dantri Newspaper has transferred a total VND112,940,000 to the family.

"Anh has gone through nine chemotherapy sessions and is now being treated at Hue Central Hospital. Everyone's help is very precious to us right now," said Nguyen Thanh Vinh, Anh's father.
