The airport received the flight VJ230 operated by Vietjet Air from Ho Chi Minh City on the morning of March 3. Vietjet will conduct four round trips a week on this route in March.

The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines also announced earlier that it would resume flights between Tan Son Nhat Airport to Van Don Airport on March 3.

From March 3 to 17, Vietnam Airlines will conduct one weekly flight on this route on Wednesdays. Flight numbers will be increased to three a week, on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, from March 18 until the end of the year. Flights will take off at 1:00pm from HCM City and 3:45pm from Van Don.

Bamboo Airways said that they would restore Ho Chi Minh City-Van Don flight route from March 28.

Van Don Airport was temporarily shut down from January 29 after an airport security staff was confirmed positive for SARS-CoV-2.
