Monkey escapes cage, attacking child
A monkey has escaped from its cage and attacked a child in the northern province of Thai Binh.
According to the information which has gone viral on social networks in Vietnam over recent days, the incident happened in Tu Tan Commune in Vu Thu District.
The monkey weighs around 10 kilos and often disturbs local residents. It even attacked one child in Nam Long Village, causing injury to the child’s head.

The monkey has been spotted in Nam Long Village in the past several months
Vu Ngoc Tan from Nam Long Village said that over the past few days, it has been spotted in his village. Some days ago, the monkey attacked his parents’ chicken coop and killed a dog which barked at it.
The animal appearance has been reported to the police as well as the forest management force, Tan added.
Pham Quang Tao, chairman of Tu Tan Commune, admitted that the monkey has entered the locality multiple times in the past several months. To date, local authorities have not identified the monkey’s owner.
Local authorities have used different traps, including one anesthetic soaked into fruit as bait, but have still failed to catch the monkey.
