The team, including engineers, sniffer dogs, and military doctors, searched eight locations in Hatay which was one of the localities hardest hit by the disaster in Turkey on Wednesday and discovered three sites where victims were buried under debris.

Two locations with dead victims were then handed over to the local heavy-duty rescue force.

Another point with signs of humans in the rubble of a household was found while the Vietnamese team co-operated with their peers from Bahrain to reach the deepest and roughest area in the locality.

The 76-member rescue team from the Vietnam People’s Army arrived in Turkey on February 14, along with 35 tonnes of cargo to assist the country in recovery efforts following the devastating earthquakes.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Turkey and the embassy in Iran and Syria have delivered letters of sympathy from Vietnam to local administrations over the losses in the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria. They've informed local administrations about the Vietnamese government’s decision to give USD100,000 in aid to each country.

According to the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority, more than 6,400 buildings in the country collapsed after the two earthquakes and more than 430 aftershocks. Some 8,300 international personnel have joined search and rescue operations in the country.

As of February 15, 41,000 people were reported to have died in the disaster.
