832,900 doses of Covid-19 vaccine allocated for booster shots
Around 832,900 doses of the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine have been allocated to localities across the country as booster shots for people aged 18, according to the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology (NIHE).
So far, roughly 266 million doses have been used. Of these, 51.6 million people aged 18 and over have received a third dose. But there are significant disparities between cities and provinces as many localities have recorded booster coverage rates below 80 percent.
Vietnam is witnessing a reoccurrence of Covid-19 cases and over the past week, the country recorded 3,325 Covid-19 patients, marking the highest week of Covid-19 infection since early this year.
Vietnam has reported no deaths due to Covid-19 for over three months.

The vaccine batch with expiry dates of July 9 and July 11 has been given to 63 cities and provinces nationwide, the NIHE under the Ministry of Health said.
