Hundreds of households in the central city of Danang’s Hoa Vang District have faced water shortages due to the prolonged drought.

Many households in Hoa Bac Commune’s Nam Yen Village currently use water from local streams. However, the severe hot weather over the past few months has caused the streams to dry up, resulting in water scarcity.

A stream in Hoa Bac Commune has dried up due to the prolonged drought.

Residents have taken water from wells or had to buy water for daily use.

Local Nguyen Thi Kim Phuong said she went to her relatives for water. Her family spends several hundred thousand VND buying bottled water for cooking.

Danang City has built a water supply system for Hoa Vang District. However, some areas, including those in Hoa Bac and Hoa Phu Communes, have yet to be connected to the system. Therefore, locals have to use water from nearby streams.

Hoa Vang District reported the water shortages to the provincial authorities, but nothing has been done to improve the situation.
