The People’s Committee of Hanoi made an official announcement today, March 3, about a decision titled "No 968/QĐ-UBND" regarding the inspection and safety regulations to be implemented at Keangnam Hanoi Landmark Tower.

Located on Pham Hung Road, Tu Liem District, Hanoi, this project will become the tallest building in Vietnam. Under the decision, an interdisciplinary inspection group will be led by Nguyen Thi Phuc, Vice Manager of the Hanoi's Department of Labour, Invalids & Social Affairs. The group will include representatives from Phuc's department, the Department of Construction and Tu Liem District’s police. They will be responsible for checking and reporting on the results of labour safety regulations to be implemented at the site.

Investors, contractors and consulting agencies will be checked on how they are implementing requests made from mid-2009 through to now by an interdisciplinary inspection group and Tu Liem District’s police. If they are found to be violating regulated laws, they will be punished.

Investors, contractors and consulting agencies are supposed to carry out their regulated obligations under clause 53 & 54 of inspection laws. They are also requested to communicate with inspectors and provide necessary documents in Vietnamese.

The inspection is expected to take 30 days.

As reported by DTiNews previously, at 5.30PM on February 22, technician Vu Tien Lam, born in 1985, fell to his death while working. This was the third case in February. Last July there were also 4 deaths and 3 injuries at this site.
