Hundreds of international and Vietnamese students had the chance to enjoy an Ao Dai (Traditional Dress) fashion show and a folk music performance at a “Vietnamese Cultural Night” held at West Virginia University on October 12.

Addressing the event, Nguyen Vu Tung, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Vietnamese embassy in the US, stressed the development of Vietnam-US relations, especially in the areas of education, culture, security, and defence.

He made a presentation on Vietnam and its people, its achievements made during the cause for national protection and construction, as well as the country’s economic targets for the future.

Professor Neal Newfield from West Virginia University said the event marked the significant development of US-Vietnam relations, especially since the two countries normalized diplomatic ties in 1995.
