Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and his girlfriend Priscilla Chan have surprisingly chosen Vietnam as a destination for their Christmas holiday this year.

They stopped over in the capital city of Hanoi first on December 22 and stayed there for two days before flying to the World Heritage site of Ha Long Bay in Quang Ninh province on December 24.

VnEpxress reported that his flight departed from Gia Lam airport in Hanoi and landed in the Bai Chay ferry area in Quang Ninh. It is unclear whether Zuckerberg will celebrate Christmas in Ha Long.

On the afternoon of December 22, the Chief Executive Office of the world’s number one social network, Facebook, decided to welcome Christmas in Vietnam.

Zuckerberg stayed at the Sofitel Metropole hotel in downtown Hanoi. On December 23, he and his friends, including Priscilla Chan, visited a Vertu mobile phone shop at Sofitel Metropole as well as the historical Hoa Lo prison, Hoan Kiem Lake and some fashion shops. People who met them remarked that the group was very friendly and joyful.

Zuckerberg was granted a two-week visa to Vietnam.

An unidentified source confirmed that the Facebook boss is simply on a Christmas holiday trip to Vietnam, which has nothing to do with business or market exploration.

Born in 1984, Mark Zuckerberg is believed to possess US$24 billion in assets.
