Hanoi’s municipal government will impose strict punishments on traffic safety violators on an elevated road.

Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen The Thao recently requested relevant agencies to ensure traffic safety on Belt Road 3.

In order to prevent potential accidents on the road that connects Mai Dich with the north of Linh Dam Lake, municipal authorities have assigned the Department of Transport to quickly investigate the cause of two traffic accidents on the road on October 22.

The department is also responsible for devising proper measures to prevent the same situation being repeated in the near future. Such measures must be sent to the city government and the National Transport Safety Committee (NTSC) prior to October 30.

Hanoi’s police agency must coordinate with the department to intensify daily inspections and apply the strictest punishments in traffic safety violations on the overpass linking Phu Dong Bridge with Mai Dich area. Due attention should be paid to users of motorbikes and cars, motorbike taxi drivers, and passenger cars.

The municipal Department of Information and Communication must collaborate with the police agency and the Department of Transport and media agencies to educate people on traffic rules to ensure safety on the road.

Authorities in districts where the road runs through are responsible for taking measures to prevent possible accidents.
