The asphalted provincial road, which is 6-7 metres wide and 59 kilometres long, is a crucial route of Ben Tre, with its first end located at National Highway 60 in Chau Thanh district running through Binh Dai district to the East Sea.
The construction of the bridges started in mid-March 2012 and finished in mid-September of this year, 17 months ahead of schedule.
The nine metre wide bridges were constructed under the ‘build – transfer’ model with total investment of VND763 billion (US$35.8 million), and are constructed to withstand maximum speeds of 60 kilometresper hour. The 30/4 Bridge is the longest at 175 metres, while the shortest is Viec Giua Bridge at 72 metres.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh highly appreciated the importance of these bridges in boosting local socio-economic development, and hailed the efforts made by relevant sides to complete the construction ahead of schedule.
