A power outage from 11:05am to 12:25 am at the HCM City Area Control Centre (ACC/HCM) delayed three international flights and several domestic flights from Tan Son Nhat airport yesterday, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV).

The incident did not pose any danger to flight safety as response measures were taken promptly by the Southern Region Air Traffic Service Company, the CAAV reported.

The Hanoi Air Traffic Control Centre (ATCC/HAN) was alerted to monitor flights out of and into HCM City's aviation space.

The national air traffic control centres of Singapore, Malaysia, Laos and Cambodia were also informed of the incident.

Senior officials from the Civil Aviation Authority and the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation, as well as leading technicians, flew to HCM City immediately to investigate the cause of the incident in a bid to prevent repeat occurrences.
