Opera combines with fashion

The “Style 2010” show at Ho Chi Minh City’s White Place Centre was the first opera-fashion show in Vietnam.

Based on Walt Disney’s “Little Mermaid” opera, the show told the story about the mermaid with a happy ending.

Outstanding songs in “Little Mermaid” like “Part of the World”, “Poor Unfortunate Souls”, and “Kiss the Girl”. were performed by Binh Minh (The God of the Sea), Duc Tuan (prince), Trieu Yen (witch Ursula) and Quynh Anh (mermaid) in the context of a fashion party set in a colorful and mysterious ocean world.

The costumes for major characters were designed by famous fashion designer Cong Tri.

Top models like Thanh Hang, Huong Giang, Hoang Yen, Vu Thu Phuong, Ha Anh, Ngoc Quyen and Tien Doan performed other collections which are designed based on the story about mermaid, including Gosto’s King Neptune’s Daughters, Hong Kong designer Mountain Yam’s Black witches, Hong Kong designer Kemi and Marilyn Lee’s The Kisses and Ann’ Gi’s Song of Eternal Love.

The show will be aired on VTV3 channel at 9.40pm, August 15.
