Three workers missing in bridge construction work collapse
Three workers have been missing after a bridge construction work collapsed at a hydroelectric power plant in the northern province of Tuyen Quang on Sunday.
Speaking with the Labour Newspaper, Chairwoman of Ngoc Hoi Commune, Luong Thi Thin said that the missing workers had yet to be found by 8 am on Monday.
According to the official, the accident happened when workers were pouring concrete for the bridge which spans a stream in the hydroelectric power plant area.
"Three out of five workers at the construction site were buried by the concrete at the stream which is about 10 metres deep," she said, adding that rescue work were carried out right after the accident but the missing workers have yet to be found by Monday morning.
"We're investigating into the cause of the accident but I think bad-quality scaffolding may be the main reason," Thin said.

The accident occurred at 2.30pm at the Vom Bridge construction site which is invested the ICT Chiem Hoa Hydroelectric Power Plant in Chiem Hoa District's Ngoc Hoi Commune.
