Two Iranian men have been arrested after being accused of stealing a gold watch in a shop in the northern province of Lang Son.

Lang Son Provincial Police Department jointly co-operated with Hanoi police to detain Abolghasem Amirghossein, 39, and Asadollah Parviz, 44, on September 12 in Kim Ma Street, Ba Dinh District.

According to the police, on September 10, the two Iranians came to the shop and said they wanted to buy a Longines-branded watch worth around VND240 million (USD10,909). One of them said that he wanted to see the warranty and asked the female staff to pack the watch.

Meanwhile, the other man called the male staff member to go to the door to ask him with something.

The man near the counter was accused of stealing a watch on display while the female staff was busy with the wrapping. The men then told the staff members to temporarily keep the packed watch for them so that they went out for some minutes to convert their money.

Then they got into a car to escape. However, their appearance in the shop was recorded by the camera, which helped the police quickly to find them.

At the police station, the men admitted their guilt. The police also found the watch stolen in their possession.
