Leaders of departments and agencies were asked to show more determination and make keeping traffic order one of their priorities.

Nguyen Ngoc Tuong, deputy head of HCM City Traffic Safety Committee said, “We must create favourable conditions for children to grow up and protect them. Adults must be role models for children so that they will know to wear helmets and cross the streets at right locations.”

According to the committee, HCM City had over 3,600 traffic accidents that killed 655 people and injured 2,800 in 11 months of 2017. The number of fatalities and injured people decreased by 13% and 5% compared to the same period in 2016 respectively.
