A ball and football shirt signed by Vietnam’s U23 football squad which were presented to Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc have been auctioned for VND20 billion (USD90,909).

The ball and shirt were presented to the government leader when he hosted a welcome on January 28 for the U23 Vietnam team - the runners-up of the Asian Football Confederation U23 Championship. However, he asked ministries of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, and Information and Communications to co-ordinate in organising a public auction. The money collected will be delivered to policy beneficiaries and poor households.

According to the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, many individuals and organisations joined the auction.

On the final day of the auction on February 11, a company in HCM City paid VND6 billion (USD272.72) and then it raised the figure to VND10 billion (USD454,545).

FLC Group won the items with a VND20 billion bid.
