Storm Sanba set to hit Khanh Hoa

Storm Sanba is on en route to the coastal province of Khanh Hoa at the speed of 30km/h.

  

Storm Sanba heading to Vietnam

According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorology Forecasting, Storm Sanba was to the south of the Philippines as of 7 am, February 13. The wind speed near the eye of the storm was 75km/h. In the next 24 hours, it will move northwest 210km from Philippines' Palawan Island. In the next 24 to 48 hours, it will continue moving to the west.

At the speed of 30km/h, it will be 450km from the Spratly Islands on February 15 and on the next day, it will be 500km away from the coastal provinces of Khanh Hoa and Binh Thuan.

Le Thanh Hai, vice head of the National Center for Hydro-meteorology Forecasting, said there was a 60% chance that Storm Sanba would weaken into a tropical depression.

On February 12, the Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control notified the authorities at all levels, police and ministries to warn vessel owners, monitor the storm and prepare search and rescue plans.
