Vietnam once again lodges resolute protest to Taiwan’s live-fire exercises at Ba Binh Island which forms part of Vietnam’s Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago.

Le Thi Thu Hang, Spokesperson of the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry, made the above statement at press conference in Hanoi on March 22.

Vietnam demands Taiwan not repeat similar activities, Hang stated.

She affirmed Vietnam has full legal basis and historical evidence to attest its sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos.

Taiwan’s organization of live-fire exercises for many times at the Ba Binh Island has seriously encroached upon Vietnam’s territorial sovereignty, threatened peace, stability, safety and freedom of navigation, and caused tensions and complicated the situation in the East Sea, according to Hang.
