Tonnes of pangolin scales seized at HCM City port
Customs officers at a port in HCM City have seized nearly 3.8 tonnes of pangolin scales worth a total of VND30 billion (USD1.36 million).
The wildlife product was found at Cat Lai Port on the morning of April 27.

The pangolin scales were put into in 210 jute bags surrounded by logs in two containers which belong to Thien Phuoc Duc Ltd. Co. in the southern province of Binh Phuoc's Dong Xoai Town.
The containers were declared as logs imported from Congo.

The case is being under investigation.
According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature, the pangolin is believed to be the world's most trafficked mammal accounting for as much as 20% of all illegal wildlife trade
