Hiroaki said he was glad to be able to fulfil the desire to complete an educational project in Vietnam on the occasion of Nagoya's 55th anniversary in November this year. He hopes the new classrooms will help teachers and pupils as well as tighten the two countries' relationship.

New classrooms replace deteriorated ones

Two Dantri classroom projects have been completed in July. This is the first collaboration with Nagoya Taiko Lions Club and the 18th Dantri classroom project in Vietnam. "We believe that this project will create a strong foundation for future collaboration with bigger projects to help disadvantaged children," Nam said.

Le Minh Duc, vice chairman of Van Yen District People's Committee, expressed gratitude to Dantri and Nagoya Taiko Lions Club for making the investment. Duc said he would use the state fund to build other four classrooms to create a better studying environment at Chau Que Ha Nursery School.

Chau Que Ha Nursery School has eight school sites but most classrooms have badly deteriorated, especially the school site in Ngoc Chau Village. Over 100 children have to study and play at the village culture house for years.

Nagoya Taiko Lions Club helped build two classrooms at the total cost of VND500m (USD20,000). The construction was started on March 6 and completed on July 13.
