Pilots' remains found after 47 years
The remains of a Vietnamese and Russian pilot who went missing during a flight 47 years ago have been found in Tam Dao, Thai Nguyen Province.
The search was carried out last year after the granddaughter of Yuri Poyarkov expressed a desire to find more information about her missing grandfather. On February 25, a piece of the aircraft was found and confirmed to belong to a Mig-21U.
This could be the remains of Vietnamese pilot Cong Phuong Thao and Air Force Captain Poyarkov Yuri Nikolaevich from the Soviet Union.
The authorities are carrying out DNA tests.
