The boy is facing health problems due to acute myocarditis, while his family is so poor to afford the treatment

Dinh Van Tron, Dat’s father, said that his wife has given birth to the second child who is just one week old.

According to Tron, his family only depends on farming. He left home to work for a coffee processing workshop with the daily payment of just VND140,000 (USD6.08), leaving his wife and the new-born baby at home.

However, just four days after being away from home, Tron was informed that Dat was hospitalised so he immediately returned home.

Earlier, Dat suffered from fevers and vomiting. He was taken to Quang Ngai General Hospital and then moved to Danang Hospital for Women and Children.

Doctors said that Dat’s treatment would cost hundreds of millions of VND which the family can’t cover.

Vo Huu Hoi from the hospital said that Dat’s condition is critical with heart and multi-organ failure. The extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) technique would cost VND200-300 million (USD8,695-13,043).

He hoped that donors could support the boy.
