In 2017, Be Than Trading Ltd. Co. was licensed to build a floating restaurant on Lap An Lagoon in Lang Co to serve tourists.
The bridge built illegally at Lap An Lagoon
The firm recently built a wooden bridge with dozens of concrete pillars which were not included in the licence.
On December 2, local authorities requested the investor to stop the construction. At that time, part of the 43-metre bridge was completed.
However, the company ignored the instruction and continued the work which has been almost finished to date.
Nguyen Van Manh, chairman of Phu Loc District People’s Phuc Loc Committee, said that the company has been ordered to dismantle the bridge from tomorrow, December 14. It has been also fined VND40 million (USD1,739) for the violation.
Lap An Lagoon covers a total area of 800 hectares. Besides attracting tourists, it is also the place for local residents’ fishing and aquaculture breeding activities.
