According to Lieutenant General Le Dong Phong, director of the HCM City Police, the incident happened in Cu Chi District.

The man being wanted by the police

Early investigations revealed that an argument broke out for a group of men at an illegal cockfight in Tan Thanh Dong Commune.

Local residents said that they had heard sound of guns, and when arrived at the scene, four men were already dead. The identities of the victims have not yet been released.

Le Quoc Tuan, 33, who works at a detention centre in HCM City, is being wanted by the police for causing the deaths.

Tuan lost all his money and asked to play one more game with the hope of recouping his losses. This, however, was turned down by the others. He became angry and left the group. Tuan came back just some minute later with a rifle and shot the people, killing four and injuring another.

The man then escaped on a scooter, wearing a mask, taking the gun with him.
