Coronavirus has been detected in 31 provinces of China and other countries. There is no vaccine against the new coronavirus yet and the WHO had to call an urgent meeting over whether the new coronavirus should be declared a global health emergency.

In accordance with Governmental Directive 5 issued on January 28, the Ministry of Transport will work with the Ministry of Health and asked the Road Directorate of Vietnam, Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam, Vietnam Railway Authority and the Vietnam Maritime Administration to closely work together to carry out preventive measures.

The authorities will further tighten control at the borders, airports and ports. Passengers with flu-like symptoms will be quarantined immediately.

The Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam was asked to temporarily stop issue permits to flights to and from areas in China that have been affected by coronavirus. They must also issue warnings and guidance to the passengers on other modes of transport and how to implement preventive measures on flights.

Current flights to and from China should also be limited. The administration must follow and update the situation and report back to the Ministry of Transport the cancelled flights to China.

The Ministry of Transport also asked hospitals to monitor the ports and stations, quarantine and report to the ministry's Health Department if they detect a new case.
